The Legal Services Commission (previously Legal Aid Board)
A government sponsored organisation that can direct you to information on legal-aid and to law firms that carry out work on a pro-bono basis. It also provides information about what your legal rights are.

The Law Society
The body that regulates and represents solicitors in England and Wales. You can get information on the activities of various Panels and Schemes such as the Family Law Panel and the Civil and Commercial Mediation Panel. Also find an accredited solicitor for expert advice on a specific issue.

Gingerbread organisation for single parents
This organisation champions the rights of single parents. It offers support and practical advice and can put you in touch with other single parent families in your area.

Divorce Online
A respected on-line legal service company. They provide a vast array of information on all aspects of the divorce procedure. Though not a member of The Law Society they can supply legal advice and have links to sites such as the mediation service Relate and other legal information providers.
