There’s no easy way to separate, but there is a ‘better way’. Resolution are raising awareness of alternative methods of separation to help separating couples and families to avoid going to court. This year’s Family Dispute Resolution Week takes place on 24th-28th November – across England and Wales Resolution members will be holding events and providing information on non-court-based dispute resolution techniques such as mediation, collaborative family law and arbitration.
As members of Resolution, we follow a Code of Practice to promote non-confrontational approaches to resolving family disputes. Out-of-court processes like mediation allow couples to work through their differences with the support of an expert family lawyer and the aim of setting out a more positive future for everyone.
Find a Resolution member in your local area or visit the Resolution website for advice and information on the different dispute resolution alternatives available. You can also find Resolution on Twitter @ResFamilyLaw and use the hashtag #abetterway to join the discussion.
