Same-sex marriage conversions for civil partnerships face delays
Under new same-sex marriage laws which came into effect on the 13th of March, couples are now allowed to make applications to marry in the UK. The first same-sex marriages following the change in law are due to take place on the 29th of March, but for couples currently in civil partnerships who are hoping to organise a conversion to marriage, the wait may be longer.
